South Florida roadways and interstates are crowded with commercial trucks used for all types of industries. Tractor-trailers and other loaded large trucks may weigh 20-30 times more than passenger vehicles.
Although the size and types of trucks may vary, virtually all are heavier than cars. As trucks increase in size and weight, they also increase in danger to other vehicles and their passengers. According to the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration (NHTSA), tractor-trailers account for a vastly disproportionate number of fatal accidents. The weight of these vehicles, combined with their speed of travel, can easily cause serious accidents that result in life altering injuries or death.
